The Tattva Story

Some beginnings are planned. Ours simply found their way.

Tattva began during a time when life had slowed down for all of us.

We were already connected with an artisan family from whom we had bought hand block printed bedsheets for our own home. When we learnt that they were going through a difficult time, there was a simple thought — perhaps we could help by bringing a few of their sarees to people around us.

I wasn't thinking of starting a brand.

But Paa — someone who meant more to me than words can quite explain, and whose belief in me became a part of Tattva's beginning — encouraged me with three simple words:

“You should try.”

So I did and began with just twenty sarees.

Those twenty sarees found their homes within days. But more importantly, they opened a door I hadn't expected to walk through.

I became curious about the textiles I was holding — how they were made, where they came from, the hands behind them, and why one weave or print could feel so different from another.

What began as a small attempt to help one artisan family slowly became my own journey into the extraordinary world of Indian textiles.

And Tattva grew with that journey.

One artisan connection became many. One craft led me to another — from Maheshwar and Chanderi to Sanganer, Bagru, Bengal, Kutch, Odisha and the weaving traditions of North Karnataka.

Along the way, Tattva grew into a thoughtfully curated world of handloom sarees, hand block textiles, contemporary weaves, suit fabrics, dupattas and stoles.

And now, Parul — Whispers of Craft, my handcrafted jewellery edit, finds its home under Tattva too.

The collection has grown, but the way I choose hasn't changed.

I still look for pieces with character. Pieces that don't need to follow every trend to feel beautiful. Pieces that you will want to take out of your wardrobe again and again.

Because what we wear becomes part of who we are.

Some pieces hold a celebration. Some, an ordinary day we never thought we'd remember. And some simply become so us that years later, someone says —

“I remember you wearing this.”

That is what I hope you find at Tattva — something worth wearing, loving and remembering.

Make it part of your story.
