A small beginning, shaped by belief.
Tattva began with a simple connection to an artisan family in Bagru, from whom I used to buy hand block printed bedsheets.
During one of our conversations, I learnt more about their work and the sarees they created. Around the same time, the thought of trying something of my own began to take shape.
A very important part of that beginning was Paa — someone very special in my life, whose quiet belief in me gave me the confidence to take that first step. He believed I could do it, at a time when I wasn't entirely sure myself.
We began with just 20 hand block printed mul cotton and silk cotton sarees.
I shared them through WhatsApp, and within fourteen days, all twenty had found homes.
That small beginning gave me the confidence to continue.
What followed was a gradual journey into Indian textiles — discovering different weaves, understanding printing traditions, meeting artisans and becoming increasingly curious about the skill and processes behind the pieces we wear.
What started with one artisan family has slowly grown into Tattva Crafted Elegance as it is today. But the thought at its heart remains quite simple: to bring together textiles and handcrafted pieces whose craft, character and story deserve to be appreciated.
I am still learning, still discovering, and still making notes along the way.
Beyond the Drape — The Tattva Journal is an extension of that journey — a space where I can share some of what I learn about textiles, sarees, styling, craft and everything that lies beyond the finished piece.
Tattva may have begun with twenty sarees, but for me, it truly began with someone's quiet belief that I could build something of my own.
